Major public infrastructure improvement projects have always had significant community and political dimensions. And savvy program managers have always tried to anticipate and resolve public concern early in a project's life. For the last two decades their approach has been formally recognized in federal, state, and local public works planning and environmental impact review requirements. The President of Interactive Elements pioneered techniques in public affairs and community outreach at NYC Transit and as creator and Director of Metro-North's award-winning Public Affairs Department. At those agencies, and at Interactive Elements, she has demonstrated how to move angry opposition to informed consent and informed consent to unqualified support. We have provided outreach services on projects that include the Hudson Bergen Light Rail System, Metro-North's Park Avenue Viaduct Rehabilitation, and the LaGuardia Airport Subway Access Project.
