Beacon Line Feasibility Study
A team led by FR Harris (now AECOM) assessed the potential for reactivating passenger service on Metro-North's Beacon Line in a manner that is cost effective and attractive to riders. The study examined a number of issues including: the right-of-way; track alignment; train storage and maintenance requirements; station locations; parking; environment factors; and the development of conceptual plans. Interactive Elements' responsibilities included community outreach and rail operations planning, including the requirements for storage yards, right of way, track, and facilities.
