Maryland Purple Line Light Rail Project (FTA PMO)
The Purple Line Project is a 16-mile light rail line being constructed in Maryland's Montgomery and Prince George's Counties. The Line extends from Bethesda to New Carrollton, with 21 stations, two maintenance and storage facilities, and a 1,100-foot long tunnel. The alignment includes a combination of dedicated and semi-exclusive rights-of-way, elevated structures, tunnels, local streets, and state highways.
IEI is providing FTA PMO services for this $2.5 billion project, putting many years of similar experience to work to ensure that the
project progresses on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved grantee plans and specifications and FTA-established guidelines. IEI also conducts feasibility studies, oversees project risk management and value engineering activities, and reviews major project safety and security documents, including the System Safety Management Plan (SSMP).
