Study of Signal/Grade Crossing Issues
Interactive Elements was retained to review all grade-crossing related aspects of the operation of the Signal Department of the nation's largest commuter railroad. These included internal and FRA-mandated inspections, maintenance practices, training, organization, staffing, and inter-departmental communication. The firm conducted interviews, site inspections, and review of records, documents, and recordkeeping. The project's final report included 32 recommendations, 31 of which were adopted by the railroad.
