Subway Fleet Long Term Investment Study
Interactive Elements assisted Booz-Allen & Hamilton in its study of New York City Transit's B Division subway car fleet. Responsibilities included: field inspection of a large sample of cars and a review of documentary data, including physical condition, failures, specifications, servicing, overhaul, component replacement, maintenance, and inspections. The final report provided estimates of fleet requirements for the years 2000-2010; evaluated the physical conditions of a sample of the R32, R38, R40, and R42 car classes; and projected future conditions of the affected fleet and the need for its rehabilitation, modernization, or replacement.
