IEI provided rail operations perspectives for this Transportation Research Board (TRB) project, designed to identify, validate, and recommend safety enhancements to reduce grade crossing accidents and incidents at higher speed light rail grade crossings. Numerous existing configurations were studied and field experiments were conducted using several new technologies.
