MBTA Green Line Safety and Security Services (Boston)
Boston's Green Line Extension is an initiative of the MBTA and Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) to improve mobility and access for residents in some of the region's most densely populated areas. In addition to improving corridor mobility, the Green Line Extension will boost transit ridership, improve air quality, ensure equitable distribution of transit services, and support opportunities for transit-oriented and sustainable development.
IEI, as a subcontractor to the Project Management Team, an HDR/Gilbane joint venture, is managing the project's safety and security program, including direction and oversight for the Fire/Life Safety and Security Committee, and development of Design Criteria and the Safety and Security Management Plan (SSMP).
IEI is also working directly with the project managers of the Design Team, an AECOM/HNTB joint venture, developing the Safety and Security Certification Plan (SSCP), Preliminary Hazard Analyses (PHAs), Threat and Vulnerability Assessments (TVAs), Certifiable Elements List (CEL), Criteria Conformance Certification Checklists, and Construction Verification Checklists.
