State Security Oversight of MBTA (Boston)

As a consultant to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Department of Telecommunications and Energy (DTE), IEI performed a comprehensive FTA-mandated review of all aspects of security at the MBTA, a multi-modal, urban transit system with more than a million daily riders. In accordance with the requirements of such reviews, IEI examined procedures and policies, along with supporting records; inspected stations, facilities, and structures; and interviewed MBTA staff. The firm applied its transit operating expertise to provide practical, concrete recommendations where improvement was possible.   [1069]
